WHAT IS NEW WEIGHT LIFTING?

A collective term for a vast variety of very effective, short and exciting workouts specific to YOUR fitness needs.

WHO CAN BENEFIT FROM USING THIS SYSTEM?

Anyone, be it an athlete seeking to gain an edge, a mother of two trying to look good again in a swim suit, a busy professional who likes to be fit, but can not seem to find the time, a couple trying to get in shape for their wedding, or parents concerned about their kids’ lack of physical activity can benefit greatly from these programs

What TRAINING METHODS do you use?

Although I have a variety of exercise “tools” in the toolbox, my most favorite by far is THE KETTLEBELL

The Kettlebell is a cannonball-shaped projectile with a handle. It is an ancient Russian invention, introduced to the US almost a decade ago.

In the former Soviet Union, Kettlebells were widely used for conditioning of Olympic athletes and Armed Forces personnel.

Numerous studies conducted in the USSR demonstrated time after time, that Kettlebells were superior to any other type of training exercises in developing strength-endurance, strength-coordination and explosive power.

Interestingly enough, it was also determined that Kettlebell training dramatically improved athlete’s performance in such seemingly unrelated events as pull-ups, parallel bar dips, sprints and team sports such soccer or ice hockey.

You may ask, what if I am not a competitive athlete, would not Kettlebells be too intense for me?

No, they would not be. It is my duty as a Fitness Coach to insure your progress and success. You will start with basic Kettlebell drills performed at the intensity level appropriate for your level of fitness and gradually progress as your conditioning level improves.

Are Kettlebells safe?

Yes, if used under a guidance of an experienced Coach, Kettlebell lifts are very safe.

What can Kettlebells do for fat loss?

Wonders! There is a wide variety of Kettlebell training circuits (usually lasting no more than 10 minutes, including rest periods) designed specifically for weight loss. Fat loss of up to 1% of body fat per week is common, if performing such circuits 3 times a week.

I am a woman, and I want to tone up without gaining bulk, is it possible with Kettlebells?

Absolutely! Kettlebells program can be easily designed to accomplish toning and fat loss without gaining bulk.

Here is a short list of goals that may be accomplished with a proper use of Kettlebells:

·        PERMANENT FAT LOSS

·        MUSCLE HYPERTROPHY (INCREASE IN SIZE)

·        PROFOUND INCREASE IN MUSCLE STRENGTH

(with or without increase in size)

·        AMAZING INCREASE IN CARDIOVASCULAR ENDURANCE

·        CORE STABILITY

·        FLEXIBILITY

·        INJURY REHABILITATION

WHAT OTHER TRAINING METHODS DO YOU USE?

BODY WEIGHT EXERCISES (CALISTHENICS)

(Not just your regular sit-ups or push-ups)

Everyone knows calisthenics. Usually, they are associated with some sort of punishment. (Drop, and give me a 100, anyone?)

In reality however, calisthenics are very effective for reaching a variety of fitness goals, such as weight loss or strength gain. Advanced calisthenics drills are capable of developing a superior physique (just look at Navy SEALs or any other Special Forces training regimens)

Why are we using calisthenics?

Because….

YOU can do a bodyweight workout anywhere (it comes pretty handy if you are stuck in a hotel room or stranded on an island)

YOU need absolutely no equipment (although a pull-up bar helps) to reach your fitness goals (YES, you can loose FAT using just your bodyweight)

MORE IMPORTANTLY, calisthenics exercises simultaneously engage a variety of muscle groups (i.e. basic push-up requires coordination of: forearms, biceps, triceps, various chest and back muscles as well as abdominals) promoting inter-muscular coordination, preparing you for more advanced drills and enhancing safety.

POWERLIFTING (it is not as scary as it may seem)

Powerlifting is defined as barbell lifts such as deadlift and its variations, barbell squat and its variations, Turkish get-up and related exercises.

Purpose of these lifts is to supplement Kettlebell training when the individual’s level of fitness demands weights Kettlebells can no longer supply as well as to introduce variety to the workout regimen.

Also, the use of barbells for lifting promotes strong grip and activates stabilizer muscles.
